I usually wear an 8W in shoes and boots. I recently bought a pair of London Fog ankle boots in an 8.5 B, going up in size to compensate for width, and though they are a little snugger than I like, they fit. I know western boots are more challenging to get on and off since there is no zipper, and this "wide" is a C, not a D, which is more comfortable for me. So I upsized to 8.5 wide and thought that would do the trick. Nope! I couldn't get my foot past the halfway point in the curve where the shaft meets the footbed. I pushed, but it wouldn't budge any further. I was afraid if I forced any harder I might not be able to get the boot off, so I took them off and packaged them for return. I loved the look of them and they appear to be high quality, but I am very disappointed that this boot maker doesn't make a boot large enough for a woman with a wider foot.Excellent buy, perfect fit, real leather. Would buy again from this provider. The photos are a little confusing.I believe the first and last photos of the "brown" boot is actually the "powder brown" matte color. The rest of the photos, are correct - the "brown" boot is a shiny, medium-dark brown with bronze inlay, and turquoise stitching. I thought I was getting a light tan matte boot, so I didn't realize I was getting the color I got...But I'm so glad I got the one I did! Let me say this, when I opened the boot box I literally gasped "omg, this is SO beautiful"! I was going to a party and planned on wearing a pale turquoise sundress and cowboy boots - I didn't want my look to scream Western, but I wanted a hint of modern boho-country. The turquoise stitching on the boot coordinated perfectly with my dress and the bronze was a nice touch of girly glitz, but in a subtle way. They definitely get noticed because they're just gorgeous! These boots are like an accessory, so I kept my dress and jewelry simple. I can also see these showcased with jeans, leggings or a prarie skirt.Ariats eye on quality is amazing. The stitching - the color and the fit of this boot is perfect. All that leather smells wonderful and there's so much attention to detail! Even the packaging is detailed and high-end to maintain the boots shape. It was packed with care. I purposely chose a wide size and square toe for comfort and room for cushioned socks. I also prefer the more modern look of a square toe. The wide size had plenty of wiggle room for a sock. I didn't have any blisters or issues wearing it for the first time. If you don't plan on wearing thick socks or you prefer a tighter fit, you don't need to order in wide.I think it's best to try different styles. I had ordered a pointed-toe boot by the same maker and had difficulty walking as it hit my shins at an odd angle. When you find the right style/color and fit - you'll fall in love! The leather is shiny...not as shown or as I have previously owned. Very disappointed.I mistakenly thought that because I found this boot in Amazon's 'Ariat Store's page, that it was being sold from Ariat and would come with Ariats's store policies (like free return shipping). It is actually coming from a private seller that requires you to pay return shipping if the item isn't right. Just fyi! I'll be buying directly from Ariat.com in the future.I found this boot to be very stiff and the ankle shaft was much tighter than my other Ariat boots.Shoe portion fits great but shaft is tight. Needs to be an inch or so wider. My boots came with cracked toe box. Very disappointed. Didn't send back as I ended up in hospital/nursing home rehab. By the time I got home it was too LATE to return. So disappointed. Stitching is red, not brown as shown. Never have woen myself. I believe these were a damaged return and they pushed them off to me.Sorry, but I wish I could have sent them back. They didn't arrive in NEW condition, also didn't have usual tags on them.SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!Birthday gift for kiddoI love Ariats, wait let me say that again I love Ariat. I have worn every other brand of boot, as I own a farm they get put through the paces and used well. Mud, Water, Poop, Ice, Snow, Horses standing on my foot. My last pair lasted 2 years and I wore them till the bottoms wore out and the seams gave. If you will be on your feet all day, walking, running, jumping, you will be happy with your feet at the end of the day if you had a pair of Ariats on. My Justins boots make my feet hurt after just a few hours. I have super high arches and these have such awesome support, I pretty much only wear boots as finding anything comfortable for my feet is a challenge. This is the first pair of ropers I have owned. I love the height of this boot it keeps stuff out, ie hay, goat heads, water. This is a very pretty boot I get lots of complements, get asked if they are alligator. They did run a bit sloppy size wise. I always buy the same size but these are a bit big although a half size down would be too small. They are stiff and take some breaking in. So pretty think I will need a different pair for work. Beside a girl can never have too many boots! These are by far the comfiest boots I've ever owned. I've been looking for the perfect square toe pair and these are definitely it. I'm usually a size 8.5 but I found the 8's to fit just right.I bought these for my wedding, they were comfortable and functional. I always gotCompliments on them but when I broke my leg we had to cut the boot off. Really sad to say they had to be cut off but they were in great condition after three years of heavy wear.Great quality, love the style and they fit great. Easy to break in and comfortableGreat qualityTrès belle botte
