I was looking for a pair of pants to do yard work in during the hot summer months. I wanted something that didn’t get heavy like jeans when I sweated in them. These fit the bill nicely. I’ve used and washed them 7-8 times and they still fit, no tears, no fading. They’ve held up nicely so far with me being moderately rough with them. I’d absolutely recommend for moderate outdoor work in hot weather.I like the style and fit of these. I also appreciate the velcroless nature in design but when purchasing these I was thinking they’d be more like the wrangler ATG but in Multicam….They are not. They are much more on the side of Gortex and they sound like it walking through the woods. I’m not a fat guy that doesn’t have experience walking through the woods.6’2” 200 lbs former 82nd infantry. It wasn’t what I thought it would get but I’m not disappointedWhen first worn they were very baggy. After washing they shrank perfectly to my size. Great lightweight work pants for summer days. Very thin but strong. Installed and torn out an entire school slopped wall wearing these and not one tear.WARNINGS...1st these are no longer available & not been for long time as I'd really like more2nd CQR seems to sell ALL versions under one posting as I've bought a half dozen all thru this single post so it is impossible to easily know to.which version my comments are for. Guessing the vendor is either saving money having so many versions in one post or are trying to confuse us.3rd NEWEST LIGHTWEIGHT pants CLAIMED HIKING pants but are basically dress or tourist pants ONLY 5 pockets & 5th pocket is way too small for any modern phones & I need 2 phone pockets but "cargo" style are too clunky for my tastes. Newest are being returned bit i do.eant to.find this light material in a more practical pant.4th ALSO RETURNING another new pair I just got as one of the cargo pockets is SIDEWAYS & TOO NARROW for anything I carry BUT SIDEWAYS? I've added new photo but black maybe not able to show the problem? I included the tags to.help.you know which pants to NOT BUY!5th & final I LOVE the CQR pants I have & wear all the time [4 or 5 pair now] but come on vendor STOP the confusion & offer only one version per posting!Wow... These are (were) a home run especially on these 100 degree hot humid days! I rarely give 5 stars but these maybe deserve 6 stars!NO MORE 5 STARSI'M DOWNGRADING TO 4 after the mess of ordering so many versions under one posting! My top 3 PRO comments...Loose fit legs help stay cool but ample room & I bet helps stay co but great if you need to wear a knee brace like me.Superb material that is durable yet super lightweight yet is NOT what I call "plasticy" material so many synthetic materials are.Complete useful yet still look great design with the standard 4 pockets (& change does not fall out like some cargo pants) plus two standard cargo pockets that has VELCRO FREE pocket covers [I hate when velcro catches everything] with TWO BONUS POCKETS you maybe cannot see in Amazon photos so see my photo. I need to carry company phone in addition to mine and these pockets are superb! Each can hold 2 rather large phones but I prefer keep one in each!As for CON observations... I'm still trying to find one worth posting. I almost always have a critical comment. Just none to report yet!WAIT... ORDER YOUR NORMAL SIZE [another reviewer is very wrong] as my only complaint is because I bought 2 sizes based on that other review to ensure I had one to use right away...RETURNING these is a HASSLE! I live under a mile from an Amazon Box BUT THE FORCED ME TO GO MANY MILES TO A KOHLS store to return these!AND NOW after multi-listings I have to hesitate before I will ever buy CQR anything! They are super comfortable and light weight and if you live anywhere rainy or humid you will love these they dry out so quickly and dont hold sweat.Just up front, I am an arborist and do some landscaping on the side. I have a pair of $300 Clogger chainsaw pants with vents that work pretty darn good. I live where the heat index is routinely 100*-110* during summer. I really expected these pants to be the bomb since they don't have all the chainsaw protection AND they have vents. Well, they are okay. The vents don't work as well as I had hoped because the flap is always covering the vent - on my chainsaw pants, the vent is uncovered. Also, the cotton content of the pants makes you look water-logged after you start sweating. I found some other lightweight hiking pants that honestly are just as cool and wick away the water faster. I ordered 5 pairs of those, and gave these CQR to my wife to wear.Light, vented, durable and cool for workI recently purchased these pants and used them on my trip in Glacier National Park and MT trip. Couldn't be more happier with the purchase and how these pants performed. They were very light weight, durable, and more than mobile when hiking the trails and mountains. It was cooler out for a bit one day, but then warmed up and in both elements these pants performed very well. The trails were pretty muddy and snowy at times, so there was a lot of water but the pants repelled the water super well and I stayed very dry. The only thing I would suggest is purchasing a size larger in the waist than you normally wear. I'm a 32 waist and a 34 worked perfect for me.
